The Council on Aging of Martin County showcased the incredible contributions of seven remarkable seniors at its annual Sage Awards celebration held March 22 at Piper’s Landing Yacht and Country Club in Palm City.

The Sage Awards were created to honor standout Treasure Coast seniors who offer their experience, skills and compassionate hearts to their communities, and who display a positive image of aging to younger generations. Honorees were awarded in seven categories.

COUNCIL ON AGING ESTABLISHES A MIND AND MEMORY FUND THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF PETER AND GAYLE GRIMM

Philanthropists Peter and Gayle Grimm founded the Mind and Memory Endowment Fund for the Council on Aging of Martin County to promote innovation and access to community-based programs for brain health and memory care.

“A proactive approach to brain health is vital to a good quality of life,” said Peter Grimm. “The earlier even the mildest slippage is recognized and addressed, the better.”
